This one was a full system overhaul. The homeowner had an aging gas furnace and an old condenser that had clearly seen better days - corroded, worn down, and no longer doing its job efficiently. We pulled it all out and started fresh with a heat pump conversion, brand-new ductwork, and a whole-home air purifier built right into the system.

Here's why heat pump services make so much sense for homes in Southern California. Rather than burning gas to generate heat, a heat pump moves heat - pulling it from the outside air and bringing it inside in winter, then reversing the process in summer. One system handles both heating and cooling, and it does it more efficiently than separate units running independently. For a home that previously relied on a gas furnace paired with a standalone AC, that's a meaningful upgrade.

The ductwork side of this job was just as important as the equipment swap. We went into the attic crawlspace and found what you'd expect in an older home - duct runs that had been in place for a long time, accumulating dust and debris along the way. We replaced the ductwork entirely, which means the new heat pump is pushing clean, conditioned air through a system that's actually built to match it. Old, leaky ducts with a new high-efficiency unit is one of the most common ways homeowners leave performance on the table.

We also added a whole-home air purifier as part of the new system installation. This isn't a standalone plug-in unit - it's integrated directly into the air handler, so every bit of air that circulates through the home gets filtered. Dust, allergens, and other airborne particles get caught at the source. The result is noticeably cleaner air throughout the entire house, not just in one room.

The finished install came together clean. New AC Pro condenser set on a fresh pad outside, new air handler in the utility closet, new ductwork throughout the attic, and an air purifier tied into the whole thing. It's the kind of setup where every component is working together as it should.
